I Am Here
I am here.
I am here Lord. I have come to the edge of all I know. I feel your love gathering beneath my wings. I breathe in the safety of your shelter building strength for my journey. Soon I will be lifted and released into the heart of your Grace. for you have called my name. I am yours Lord… I am yours. |
Rev. Stephanie Rutt, 2005
I wrote this poem around the time of my ordination into interfaith ministry. I had long known I belonged to God. I had sensed his Unseen Hand on my life for as long as I could remember. I had known him, beyond understanding, in the silence that followed those sacred practices recorded across faith traditions. But, having found him everywhere, I could no longer choose one faith tradition. So, when I discovered something called “interfaith ministry,” I literally thought I had died and gone to heaven! Simply, I was Home.
