What is 3 Feathers Trilogy of Love?
The Trilogy of Love is a paradigm whereby we as Lovers enter into the Love, various forms of spiritual practice, to merge with our Beloved and create the conditions to experience mystical unity with the One. It began as the Sonic Trilogy of Love, created as part of my doctoral dissertation in 2017. Here, we as Lovers enter into the Love, sacred sound, to merge with our Beloved and create those conditions for mystical unity. In recent years, I've been envisioning how the Love could also be dance-movement, creating a Somatic Trilogy of Love, and/or spirit journeys, a Spirit Trilogy of Love, or any combination of the three. Last year, I created the 3 Feather Sacred Dance Troupe, an informal and organic gathering, to begin exploring how these three forms of spiritual practice might intersect and be experienced together.
I'm particularly interested in how we may use these forms of practice to explore what in Shamanism cosmology is known as the Middle World . . . the spirit side of this creation . . . to discover what George Washington Carver knew: how to talk to the Infinite through the flowers, stones, dragonflies . . . and to hear that still small voice that calls up the fairies. I'm so excited and grateful to be exploring this new body of knowledge and work with you!!
We stand on the shoulders of our teachers, so I'd like to gratefully acknowledge my Shamanism teacher, Sandra Ingerman. Sandra first mentioned George Washington Carver in one of her books, and then later offered a beautiful course, Shamanic Journeying with the Spirits of Nature, which ignited my desire to explore the Middle World further with Carver as my guide. Thank you, Sandra!

I cannot express enough how much I love Stephanie’s classes, and how she creates a space where I have experienced such deep inner joy, peace, and healing. I have eternal gratitude for Stephanie’s presence on this planet and for all the gifts that she offers in her classes. Through various classes I’ve taken with Stephanie, I have learned so much about understanding both myself and others, in addition to learning the incredibly valuable skill of how to receive people in my heart even though I may not agree with them, which I find especially useful with loved ones.
This particular class of mantra prayer, ecstatic dance, and spirit journeys brought me such a profound sense of joy and playfulness. I simply adored every moment of all of it, including sitting in a virtual circle over Zoom with Stephanie and the other participants and sharing the truth of our own experiences and feeling so seen and heard and loved by Stephanie and all in the circle. Stephanie is a master of the mystical, and of creating such a safe and loving space where we all may enjoy our own mystical and sacred experiences, and then talk about our experiences with others and feel seen, heard, held, and loved. I have endless gratitude for all that Stephanie offers!

There is an unusual catch to journeying to the Middle World; that is its down-to-earth application. If one is prone to delve into the edges beyond the evidential, rational mind, then traveling to the Upper and Lower worlds seems a bit more feasible; there one travels to have conversations already in the ethers of the fantastic. But the Middle World allows us to commune with what actually exists and is known in our very own environment.
While insights gained alongside spirits and guides above or below the realm of our reality heighten our awareness of consciousness, entering into conversation with the Middle World enlivens and informs the whole of our walking and waking reality. Here we are reminded that the whole of the earth is One as Spirits of our Relations. Each rock, tree, element, animal, human has its own energetic spirit waiting to be respected by us and willing to be in relation with us in any moment. By honoring the Spirits of the Middle World we return to what our ancestors knew and have taught for a millennium; we are always in communion with Mother Earth.
Traveling to any realm, Rev Dr. Stephanie creates and holds a safe and sacred space for our journeys; our physical bodies move into readiness, our minds quiet into stillness and our unique sparks open to guidance beyond anything previously expected.

I love Reverend Doctor Stephanie’s 3 Feathers Sacred Dance Troupe. Stephanie sends out an agenda prior to class that also includes the titles of the Mantra Music. “Kal Akal” has been in my mind since the first class. No dance experience necessary. Stephanie cues with clear easy to follow instructions. There is something about sacred circle dancing that makes me feel spiritually connected to my fellow dancers. Stephanie is always careful to set a judgement free, safe, environment where we feel truly able to be who we are. I leave each class with a feeling of warmth and love.

I have been blessed to experience Rev. Dr. Stephanie Rutt’s spiritual teachings over the course of 26 years. These teachings parallel Rev. Rutt’s personal spiritual journey, where she always seeks to expand her consciousness of the Divine, and then share it with her students. Most recently, I have participated in Rev. Rutt’s Trilogy of Love series, using dance, mantra and journeys to explore the Middle World. Through the experience of integrating these three spiritual practices, I was able to further cultivate creating the conditions for mystical unity. To attune attention, align body, and go inward. Rev. Rutt has devoted herself to all of these practices throughout most of her life and has brought them together in a powerful and meaningful way. I am grateful to be a beneficiary of her devotion and generosity.
