Why You Are Here
From the One Divine Source
You are here to be My instrument…
My light in the world.
Don’t concern yourself with where the road may take you.
Rather, follow the Love I have put in your heart.
Come to Me each morning.
I will tell you what to do…how you may serve the greatest good.
Feel all deeply for there I am most hidden…
carving you, one stroke at a time, into the most beautiful expression of Me.
Discern My Beauty everywhere even when darkness clouds the way.
This is truly when I am most alive
ready to be known through all doubt and fear.
You are my Beloved. I love you more than you could ever know.
Look for Me in silence
speaking in ways only your heart may recognize.
For there, in the silent mystery, we dance together…
for you are my Beloved.
This is why you are here.

One morning, just ten minutes before my seminary students were to arrive for class (“Where are they?” I thought.) I was clearly told to get a pencil and paper and sit down and write. And, what poured out in just a few minutes was this poem. Right as I was finishing, or should I say the Divine One was finishing, my students poured in. I put on a soft piece of music and invited them into a walking meditation during which I read this poem. Over the years, it has become special to many. I read it at the end of every ordination ceremony. Thank you, Beloved!
